Not so fast! Val Kilmer isn't recovering from surgery after all. The Mark Twain and Mary Baker Eddy actor is denying recent reports that he was rushed to the hospital earlier this week because of a throat tumor. The star spoke out about the false information on his Facebook page, but alluded to the possible health scare on Saturday, Jan. 31.

"Thank you for all your sweet support. But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU," Kilmer, 55, wrote.

"Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there's minimum gossip and silly talk," he continued. "I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don't worry. Love and deep affection, Val."

Kilmer's rep added: "Film actor Val Kilmer is currently undergoing tests at a Los Angeles Hospital for a possible tumor. The 55-year-old Kilmer is being cared for by his two children Mercedes, 23 and son Jack who is 19, both LA residents. According to a family friend and spokesperson, the doctors are encouraged by his progress and are hopeful that Mr. Kilmer will make a full recovery."

TMZ reported on Friday, Jan. 30, that paramedics were called to Kilmer's Malibu home on Monday after getting a 911 call. The Batman Forever star was reportedly bleeding from his throat and was taken to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, Calif., for surgery.

Sources also told the site that Kilmer had been allegedly ignoring the problem. Back in October, during a small clams court case about his former home, he told the judge that he couldn't speak because of a swollen tongue.

Kilmer has recently appeared in James Franco's 2013 drama Palo Alto, and the TV mini-series The Spoils of Babylon. Last month, he stepped out looking thin after his recent weight loss while shopping in Malibu.
