Kevin Corcoran, the actor who played the youngest brother in the 1957 classic Old Yeller, has passed away at the age of 66.
Corcoran’s wife, Laura, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that he died on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., after losing his five-year battle with colorectal cancer.
The child actor, who was a Santa Monica, Calif., native, played Arliss Coates in the famed Disney flick.
Corcoran also starred in The Shaggy Dog, Swiss Family Robinson, and Bon Voyage. Following his career as a child actor, Corcoran went on to produce numerous hit TV series, including The Shield and Sons of Anarchy.

"Usually they would give you pages from the script, let you know what the character is like," Corcoran recalled of his final audition before becoming a producer in a 2012 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. "But this director and producer said they wanted to hear about my version of the character. I said, 'Well, what is this character about?' And they fumbled around because they didn’t know. Then it hit me. You know what? I know more about making movies than the guy making this picture. I’m done acting. I left that meeting and called my agent. I said, 'Thanks a lot, but no more auditions. I’m done.'"
