Saying one final farewell. Former Miss USA Ali Landry and her husband, film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, scattered the ashes of his late father and brother off the coast of Tampico, Mexico, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, Us Weekly confirms.

Additionally, a mass for the two men will be held at a Los Angeles church on Friday, Sept. 25.

Monteverde’s father and brother were both found dead on Saturday, Sept. 19, in Veracruz, Mexico, after being kidnapped and held hostage for 16 days. According to the Latin Times, Landry’s father-in-law, Juan Manuel Gomez Fernandez, and her brother-in-law, Juan Manuel Gomez Monteverde, were discovered dead with critical head wounds despite the fact that a ransom had reportedly been paid for their release.

Neither Landry, 42, nor Monteverde, 38, have spoken out about the devastating incident, though Eduardo Verastegui, the producer who worked closely with Monteverde on his film, this year’s Little Boy, expressed his heartfelt condolences on Twitter.
